Aligarh Muslim University observes World Disability Day

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Akhtar Haseeb urged differently abled students to work hard and make efforts to achieve the best in life. He said God has gifted every person with special skills and there is need to explore those skills in you and use them for the betterment of self and society.

Prof Haseeb was addressing differently abled students at a programme held by Disability Unit, AMU marking the World Disability Day. He also distributed head phones, pen drives, angles, crutches and tricycles to several AMU students including those belonging to AMU schools.

Professor Tasadduk Husain shared experiences of overcoming physical challenges and achieving success in life while and Mr Saad Hameed (TPO General) spoke at length about various job opportunities for differently abled persons.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof Khalid Bin Yousuf Khan (Coordinator, Disability Unit) discussed the importance of World Disability Day. He assured that the Unit will keep working for the general good of the students.

Counselor cum placements officers, Dr Riaz Ahmed and Dr Syed Faiz Zaidi conducted an interactive session with students and responded to their queries related to residential issue in hostels and career prospects.
