Aligarh Muslim University riders bag gold medals

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) riding team bagged six gold medals and one silver medal as horses and jockeys showcased their competitive skills at the Muslim University Riding Club (MURC) during the first ever Regional Equestrian League (REL) organised by AMU under the patronage of the Equestrian Federation of India (EFI).

Sadan Sabih (Captain, MURC) won a gold medal and secured the first place in the league. Ahmad Hasan, Abdul Wahid and Syed Saud Ali received a gold medal each, while Syed Saud Ali also won a silver medal.

Sadan Sabih and Syed Saud Ali booked their places for participations in the National Equestrian Championship scheduled to take place in Jalandhar next month.

MURC’s horse, Faris was felicitated with the award for being the fastest horse in the tournament.

Seven teams with 29 riders participated in the league. AMU participated with 11 riders, while Northern Command (Army), Haryana Police, Royal Riding Club and Ghazi Riding Club had three riders each. Western Command (Defence) participated with five riders and Gujrat took part with one rider.
