Aligarh Muslim University to purchase another Coronavirus testing machine

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor has announced to purchase another machine worth Rs 35 Lakhs for COVID 19 (Coronavirus) test. The decision was taken to ensure the speedy diagnosis of Corona virus.

The University already has a machine at the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) capable of testing 60 tests a day. With the new machine, JNMC will be conducting 120 tests. Meanwhile, in line with the Government of India directives, the Vice-Chancellor has appealed to all the University employees and students to follow the lockdown strictly, and only employees involved in the essential services are being called for the duty. With the closure of Reading halls of the library and research laboratories, the campus wore a deserted look, and only 4, 500 students out of 13, 000 are still in the residential halls.
