Amandeep Kaur of CGC Landran bags gold medal in the 2nd National Masters Weightlifting Championship

 

Ms Amandeep Kaur, weightlifting coach and Assistant DPE, CGC Landran, clinched the gold medal in the 87+ Kg weight category in age group 35 years to 40 years, of the 2nd National Masters Weightlifting Championship (Men & Women), held in Hyderabad recently. More than 150 players from across India participated in this national level championship. Ms Kaur powered over her competitors in the category by lifting 45 Kg in snatch and 60 Kg in clean & jerk event, lifting a total weight of 105 Kg to claim gold.

 

A diploma holder in weightlifting coaching from the prestigious Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala, Amandeep is no stranger to winning; having bagged a gold medal in the World Strongman Championship Games, 2023 organised at Chandigarh University in February. She has been competing in state & national level weightlifting tournaments since her college and university days.

 

Crediting her Coach, CGC Landran and her family for this achievement, she thanked them for providing her the right training, mentorship, encouragement and consistent support that played a huge role in her winning this medal. She is now preparing to participate in another international weightlifting championship scheduled to be organised in Poland in August, this year.
