Amid 71st Independence Day Festivity LPU organized 3rd UniFest Meet

 

Jalandhar: Amid 71st Independence Day celebrations being observed at Lovely Professional University; 3rd UniFest Meet was organized at its Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium, where 200+ distinguished performers, administrators, judges, choreographers, composers, lyricists, instrumentalists from 32 years’ Youth Festivals conducted by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) presented their enthralling artistic skills. Many of the LPU students who remained winners and achievers at AIU youth festivals also actively participated and performed during a huge get-together of hundreds of, so called, “Unifestians”.
On this unique occasion, LPU students from 29 states of India and 50+ countries presented the heritage of rich diversity at LPU. Classical dances, singing, theatrical presentations, rhythmic musical outpours and more kept LPU audience spell bound throughout the 7-hour cultural bonanza. Presenters reached at LPU from all quarters across India spread enchanting patriotic fervour of oneness, brotherhood and peace at the celebration. LPU Director General Er HR Singla inaugurated the celebration.
Years back remained young part of AIU’s youth festivals and now Asia Head of Pepsi (RJ Corporation), having 14 international brands under control, Dr Vishwa Raman Nirmal conducted the programme; Tamil Nadu’s renowned folk dance master Ilangovan, recipient of Tamil state’s highest art award, presented choreography for dance troupe “kavin kalai kuzhu”; Assistant Director at All India Radio Dr Santosh Nahar presented heart-writhing tunes on violin; Indian Classical vocal recital by world famous Pandit Devendra Verma; bollywood music composer Johny Foster Saheb presented Gazhals; India’s Justin Bieber considered Jai Prakash, Binny Dhillon, Sombil presented old and new songs; whereas, Dr Hitendra Goel from recited poems full of emotions.
LPU star performers in bollywood film like Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ Girish Bhatt; at TV reality shows Shilpa Surroch, Amrtyanshu, Paras Maan, Ajay Tiwari; and, AIU Youth Festivals’ top winners Preeti, Prateek, Vishnu, Piyush and more also performed for LPU audience. AIU Joint Secretary Dr Sampson David thanked all the participants at the meet and Independence day celebrations and invoked all: “True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist and this is why we all here as a big family member. I would also like to appeal to you all to live a bit for others also. Let us all take a pledge on this great day that to make our country stronger in all forms; we will continue working for the betterment of our country and countrymen-women.”
