Amity Business School, Mumbai, hosts International higher education conference

Amity Business School, Amity University Mumbai has hosted the 3rd International Conference and 1st Global Conference titled ‘International Higher Education Conference (IHEC)’. This two-day event witnessed 19 institutions from 12 countries such as Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Netherlands, India, Australia with 40+ speakers across the globe. There were 800 registrations for the conference, with more than 300 international registrations.

 

IHEC 22 has been crucial to better understand the pre and post pandemic situations on a micro level, the depth of discussions in all the round table conferences took every minute detail into consideration making it relevant to present day scenario of the world.

 

Dato Nigam Foon (Past President, MATTA) delivered the keynote address on International Mobility and its future post the pandemic. The address included major developments on mobility such as online and social interactions, contactless service and key role of smartphones and modern-day work-life.

 

The first round-table discussion was conducted on the theme Repositioning Higher Education: Overview of strategies formulation before and after the Pandemic, wherein the panel members mentioned difficulties in transitioning from offline to an online mode and how the situation has reversed post the pandemic.

 

Tactics dealing with unknown, and uncertainties was the topic for the second-round table discussion. Being flexible, recognizing opportunities, being ahead of time, being decisive were identified through the discussion as key skills that are required to solve challenges.

 

The third-round table addressed the topic of Internationalization at home. The idea of internationalization just not being a mode of cultural/ business exchange, but as a means for improving the education scenario on a global level was a major perspective in the discussion.

 

Following the concept of internationalization, the theme for round table four was Cross Border Internationalization. The discussion highlighted the key role that internationalization plays in improvement of educational resources and cultural enrichment on an international level, helping the students of the future to true global citizen.
