Amity School of Engineering and Technology lifts the “Sangathan 2019” Trophy

New Delhi: Today the two month long sports extravaganza -The Inter Amity Institutions Sports Meet “Sangathan 2019”, commemorating Founder’s Day, concluded with the felicitation of winners in more than 20 Sports events at University Campus, Sector-125 Noida.

This year, Amity School of Engineering and Technology lifted the Winner’s Trophy of Sangathan 2019 with 19 Gold Medals, 17 Silver Medals and 06 Bronze Medals; Amity Law School Noida was declared the First Runners Up with 17 Gold Medals, 08 Silver Medals and 13 Bronze Medals. Amity Institute of Biotechnology (AIB) and Amity School of Business (ASB) were jointly declared as Second Runners Up.

This year, the Sports Meet witnessed the participation of thousands of students from all National and International Campuses of Amity, who displayed of exemplary sportsmanship and skills, in various sports events including Swimming, Tennis, Badminton, Tug- of war, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Chess, Squash and Shooting amongst others.

The ceremony commenced with an impressive and well-coordinated March Past by 139 marching contingents from Amity International Schools, Amitasha (School for underprivileged girls under the aegis of Amity Humanity Foundation), Atulasha (School for underprivileged boys under the aegis of Amity Humanity Foundation), Amity Institutions of Amity University Noida campus as well as from National and International Amity Universities/campuses and Amity Dog Training Academy.

On the occasion, a special birthday message on behalf of the cheerful and young toddlers of Amiown PreSchools across Delhi NCR was telecast. Students of Amitasha also presented a melodious song.

Presenting a summary of Sangathan, Prof. Kalpana Sharma, Chairperson, Organizing Committee, Sangathan – 2019 shared that Sangathan sport meet promotes equality, unity and integrity amongst students and imbibes the important life virtues such as honesty, teamwork, perserverance, patience and true sportsmanship. She highlighted that this year, Sanagathan witnessed the exemplary participation of students in 22 sports events wherein molre than 900 matches were held in Boys and Girls Category. 10 Vintage Games such as Hopscotcg, Lemon and spoon race, Marbles, Pittu, 3-legged race, Skipping rope etc. were organized for faculty members and staff. Dr. Sharma apprised that respected Founder President Sir, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, always had an inclination towards promoting sports amongst students, faculty and staff since he believes in overall development of a person, i.e providing global education along with inculcating the concept of healthy living. She added that Dr. Chauhan’s vision is now in sync with PM’s initiative of FIT India Movement.

Dr. Ashok K Chauhan- Founder President, Amity Group of Institutions exclaimed “I think 25years ahead and plan 10 years ahead. And since the inception of Amity, my aim has been creating the global footprints of Amity Education Society by establishing Universities and campus in every state as well as every country across the globe.” He informed that recently, Amity has started a new campus in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and next year will starting a new University in Mohali, Punjab. He mentioned that Amity has always believed in nurturing the students who will contribute in betterment of society, hence, at Amity, we focus not only on providing the best education but also fostering values and sanskars in form of behavioral science so that every Amitian is a combination of best brain and best human being. Dr. Chauhan affirmed his faith on every Amitian that they will contribute towards fulfilling his vision of making India – a Global Knowledge Superpower.

Presenting during the occasion, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) K M Seth, former Governor of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Tripura lauded Dr. Ashok K Chauhan for pursuing excellence in every action and nurturing the best professionals and leaders who will bring a positive change in coming times.

During the valedictory ceremony, the dignitaries awarded ‘The Amity Inter Universities Champions Trophy’ to Amity University Uttar Pradesh, while Amity University Gwalior was declared the First Runner Up.

During the occasion, Sangathan 2019 souvenir was released by Dr. Ashok K Chauhan; Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan-Chairperson, Amity International Schools; Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh; Dr. Aseem Chauhan-Chancellor, Amity University, Rajasthan; Ms. Pooja Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity School of Film and Drama; Mr. Anmol Chauhan; Mr. Ajit Chauhan, Chairman, Amity Online, Amity Skills & Vocational Training and Ms. Divya Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity School of Fashion technology and Amity School of Fine Arts.

Dr. Atul Chauhan, President RBEF & Chancellor AUUP declared the Sangathan 2019 closed.

On the eve of valediction of Sangathan- 2019- Inter Institutional Mega Sports Meet, a colorful Cultural Programme was organized wherein students of Amity Universities from all across India and the globe presented scintillating performances that mesmerized the audience.

During the cultural evening, students from 15 Amity Universities and Campuses located in Tashkent, Dubai, Kolkata, Noida, Greater Noida, Rajasthan, Haryana, Bhubaneshwar, Lucknow, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Mumbai, Jharkand and Bihar presented a mélange of dances ranging from Durga Roop, Bhangra, Fusion Dance and Suwa Naach among other performances bringing out unity in global diversity.
