Amity University Mumbai Hosts ‘Drone Making’ Workshop: A Skyward Journey of Skill Development

Amity University Mumbai, in collaboration with the Amity School of Engineering and Technology and the Amity Institute of Technology (ASET), recently hosted a two-day, hands-on workshop on “Drone Making.” This workshop attracted participants from across India, providing them with the opportunity to enhance their drone-building skills. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shrikant Charhate, the Dean of Academics at Amity University Mumbai.

During the workshop, Dr. A. W. Santhosh Kumar, the Vice Chancellor of Amity University Mumbai, addressed the students, encouraged them to delve into the fascinating realm of building their own personalized drones and mastering the art of flying them. He emphasized the importance of fostering innovation through brainstorming and the development of cutting-edge technologies and applications using drones.

Conducted by Amey More, an Assistant Professor at ASET, the workshop delved into the intricacies of drone technology. The workshop was structured to include a knowledge session that introduced participants to drones and their various components.

This was followed by interactive practical sessions that guided participants through the process of assembling drone components and honing their soldering techniques. The workshop concluded with a hands-on virtual flying session using a simulator. As an extra incentive, three lucky winners of the virtual flying session were given the opportunity to fly an actual drone as a special consolation prize.
