Amity University Mumbai signs Memorandum of understanding with CDFD, Hyderabad

Amity University Mumbai signs Memorandum of understanding with “Center for DNA finger printing and Diagnostics” (CDFD), Hyderabad, a Department of Biotechnology- Government of India.

The MoU was signed on 18th December by K Thangraj, Director of CDFD and Dr. A.W.Santhosh Kumar, Pro vice Chancellor representing the Chancellor, Amity University, Mumbai-Dr. Aseem Chauhan.

Dr. Santhosh Kumar added that, CDFD is one among the premier institutions in India which has now joined hands with Amity Mumbai. This collaboration will mainly focus on research initiates with all the Centers of Excellence in Amity University, especially the “ Center for Astrobiology”.

The major niche areas will be research on microbes that live in extreme environments, research on Genomics and drug target discovery and also on the fields of nano-delivery systems.
Mainly this collaboration will facilitate use of high-end instruments in biological research, initiatives on student internships and faculty training.

CDFD is an autonomous organisation that is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, government of India. CDFD is also funded by other agencies for specific collaborative projects.
