Amity University organizes India Immersion Programme for 45 Tourism Management Students from Saint Marie de Chavagnes Cannes, France
Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus, has organized a six-day Amity India Immersion Programme from 27th October -01st November 2023, for a group of 45 French students, including 37 girls and 8 boys, pursuing Under Graduation and Post Graduation in Tourism Management, accompanied by 4 French Faculty Members from Saint Marie de Chavagnes Cannes, France.
Expressing pleasure and gratitude on this occasion, Prof. Christophe Martin, Group Director, Saint Marie de Chavagnes Cannes, France, averred, “We are extremely delighted to be warmly welcomed by Amity University. Tourism is the best way of fostering relations between people and nations and also the best tool for ensuring peace and harmony in the world. Visiting different countries and learning about their lifestyle, food and traditions, is extremely important for personal and professional growth. We are also looking forward to opening a French Centre at Amity, which will further strengthen the ties between the people of India and France.”
Addressing the gathering during the Inaugural Session, Prof (Dr) Vanessa GB, Vice Chair International Tourism Studies Association (ITSA), stated, “We are grateful for this opportunity which allowed us to bring French students to Amity. It is extremely crucial for students to visit different parts of the world and get exposure and learning, which broadens their horizon and enables them to become global citizens.”
Highlighting the significance of the Programme, Prof (Dr) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “The India Immersion Programme aims to provide global exposure to the youth, whereby they will be visiting the industries and also learn about the culture and heritage of India. France is one of the most favourite tourist destinations of the world and many Indians visit France frequently. Under the NEP 2020, many opportunities are available for the students, wherein they also get the advantage of completing a part of their program in other institutions of the world, through Joint Degree and Twining Programs. Amity will provide 50% scholarship to the students from other countries who would like to study at Amity and ensure that the students get the best knowledge, learning and education during their stay at Amity.”

Introducing the India Immersion Programme, Prof (Dr) M. Sajnani, Director Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism, said, “Through this Programme, French students will learn about India, its values, traditions and culture. In addition, sessions with industry leaders will enrich their knowledge about the tourism industry, therefore the Programme will be educational as well as help in the inter-cultural exchange between the two countries. During the 06 Days Amity India Immersion Programme, the participants will learn about Indian Tourism, Tourism Business Practices and various aspects of Indian Culture through Visit of Monuments and tourism sites of cultural importance. Leading Industry Professionals will address the participants and industry visits of the French students will also be arranged in well-known travel companies like Motherson Air Travel Agencies Limited, Le Passage to India, Abercrombie and Kent etc.”
