Amity University Uttar Pradesh to host the Grand Finale of 36-hour non-stop Software Product Development Competition, Smart India Hackathon-2023, an initiative of Ministry of Education

 

Amity University Uttar Pradesh Noida Campus is organising the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH)-2023 as Nodal Centre of the Grand Finale (Senior Software) from 19-20 December, 2023. A total of 300 students including 50 girls and 250 boys will be competing in the hackathon, a 36-hour non-stop Software Product Development Competition with themes including Games & Toys, Fintech and Smart Automation, wherein a total of 30 teams will be participating.

 

The Hackathon will be inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr. Navin Kumar Singh, Director General, National Critical Information, Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC), Govt. of India and Dr Saibal K Pal, Scientist G, Director, Directorate of IT & Cyber Security & CISO at Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), as the Guest of Honour, in the presence of Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh.

 

The Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, in partnership with the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has pioneered the creation of the world’s largest Open Innovation model, known as the Smart India Hackathon. This unique event is designed to challenge and identify the most promising solutions, not only from college students but also from our school students. Solutions that exhibit scalability and the potential to become world-class solutions in their respective domains will be harnessed to address some of our nation’s most pressing and formidable challenges. The Smart India Hackathon represents a nationwide initiative aimed at providing students with a platform to address the real-life issues that impact our daily lives. It seeks to instill a culture of product innovation and a problem-solving mindset among students. Its key achievements include leveraging the creativity and expertise of students, fostering institute-level hackathons, establishing a pathway for the ‘Start-up India’ campaign, crowdsourcing solutions to enhance governance and improve the quality of life and providing citizens with an opportunity to contribute innovative solutions to India’s most daunting problems.

 

The Smart India Hackathon to be held at Amity University will start at 8.30 am on 19th December and the Inaugural will merge with Central Inauguration by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji from 9.am to 9.30 am. The Coding will begin at 9.30 am and will last till the evening of December 20, 2023.

Expressing extreme pleasure on hosting the Hackathon, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said “It is a great pride for Amity to be the Nodal Center for the prestigious Smart India Hackathon-2023. Amity University will be providing its state-of-the -art infrastructure to the participants. Since this is a 36-hour long event, Amity will also hold a Yoga Session and Cultural Programme to destress the coders and provide them a comfortable stay and joyful experience.”
