Amity University’s students shines at Tourism Quiz Competition

Members of YUVA Tourism Club, Amity University, Mumbai secured third position by giving a tough fight to 10 prominent colleges of Mumbai region in the Inter-College Quiz Competition organized by Indiatourism Mumbai, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The competition was organised to mark the celebration of National Tourism Day at National Gallery of Modern Arts, Mumbai. The winners of the quiz competition are Mr. Mehran Sahibole, Mr. Akshay Patil, Ms. Akansha Tandel and Mr. Rohan Khude. The winners were awarded with trophies, certificates, and Incredible India goodies by Ms. Bhavna Shinde, Assistant Director, Indiatourism Mumbai (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India) and Ms. Nazneen Banu , Director of National Gallery of Modern Arts, Mumbai (Ministry of Culture, Government of India).

 

On the occasion of National Tourism Day, Indiatourism Mumbai organised an intercollegiate Tourism Quiz Competition for the students from travel & tourism colleges/institutes in Mumbai. The students participated with great enthusiasm and thrived to take the campaign of #dekhoapnadesh to greater heights.

 

Prof. (Dr) A, W Santhoshkumar, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Mumbai said,“ It is indeed a great achievement by students of Amity University, Mumbai. We secured third position by giving a tough fight to 10 prominent colleges of Mumbai in the quiz competition. It is a great matter of pride for all of us.”

 

The Ministry of Tourism started focusing on the promotion of Domestic Tourism. The purpose of starting the competition was to maintain a dialogue and introduce the citizens to the history, culture, cuisine, heritage, architecture, etc. the objective of promoting various tourist destinations of India and providing information/ encouragement to the people on the places they can travel to once travel opens up launched a series of webinars under the Dekho Apna Desh. The Webinars include glimpses of the culture, heritage, handicrafts, and cuisine of the destinations, in addition to the tourist spots.
