Ample Missiion spreads joy amongst under privileged children on account of Maha Shivratri
Mumbai : Maha Shivratri is a festival where we worship the great Lord Shiva and seek his blessings. Years after years we have witnessed milk being produced as an offering to the almighty in temples and we have seen that at times it goes straight down the drains and is not put to any viable use. Especially in a country like India, where hunger is one of our major issues, it is unfair to have such large amounts of waste produced that could have fed a large number of hunger stricken individuals. Ample Missiion took to this cause on occasion of the festival and distributed milk bottles around the slums in the Goregaon-Malad area of Mumbai.
These milk bottles were distributed by Ample Mission to young and underprivileged children who belonged to these particular slums along with some of their seniors. The aim of this activity was to establish the essence of celebrating festivals keeping in mind the joy of giving. Elaborating on the idea of ‘sharing is caring’ which children learnt n school, Ample Mission took to this initiative celebrate the festival along with these children and sharing with them a commodity as simple yet as essential as milk in an attempt to make their day worthwhile.
Aneel Kashi Murarka, Founder, Ample Missiion said, “It was a great pleasure for me and for Ample Missiion as an organisation to bring a smile on the faces of these children. Holy books and scriptures have always mentioned that when you feed the hungry, you automatically seek the blessings of the Lord.”
