AMU academic collaboration initiated

Aligarh : The Department of Museology at Aligarh Muslim University (A.M.U.), supported by Chairman Prof Abduraheem K. has initiated academic collaborations with two institutions: the International Islamic University Malaysia and Hanyang University, Singapore.

This milestone was unveiled during the International Annual Conference of ICOM-CECA (International Council of Museums-International Committee for Education and Cultural Action), held in Singapore from November 20th to 24th. Professor Abduraheem delivered an address on the “Future Classroom” at the conference, themed “MUSEUMS: SHAPING THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION.”

In a special session on the future classroom at the Asian Civilization Museum in Singapore on November 21st, Prof. Abduraheem delved into the transformative potential of the Metaverse Museum, harnessing cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR).

The Singapore visit yielded fruitful collaborations as Dr. Arita Hanim, Head of the Department of Applied Arts, Design, and Conservation at the International Islamic University Malaysia, expressed a strong interest in academic collaboration with A.M.U.’s Department of Museology. Similarly, Dr. Younsoo Lee, a distinguished Professor at Hanyang University, Singapore, also pledged to collaborate.

Expressing optimism, Professor Abduraheem anticipates that these international collaborations will drive innovative academic initiatives. The agreements align with the University Grant Commission Regulation 2022 by the Indian Government, specifically the “Academic Collaboration between India and Foreign Higher Education Institutions to Offer Degree Programs Regulation Notification.” Both parties have received the notification and proposal, setting the stage for the formalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
