AMU Academics and Researchers Attend International Conference on Algebra at Morocco

Aligarh : Three faculty members including Dean, Faculty of Science and three students from the Department of Mathematics represented the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in a four days International Conference on Algebra and its Applications (ICAA2023), organised recently at the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, Morocco.

The conference organised by the Laboratory of Modeling and Mathematical Structures, Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University witnessed renowned mathematicians from across the world sharing their research on topics such as number theory, algebraic coding theory and cryptography, field theory and polynomials, commutative algebra, associative rings and algebras, nonassociative rings and algebras and category theory and homological algebra etc.

Prof Mohammad Ashraf, Dean, Faculty of Science, and Chairperson, Department of Mathematics, AMU chaired a session in the conference and also delivered a plenary talk on “Nonlinear Lie-Derivations on Algebras”.

Prof Ashraf presented his recent research work and some potential future research problems in this direction. He discussed his newly introduced maps called nonlinear generalized Lie-type derivation on certain unital algebras such as triangular algebras and operator algebras, which extended many results obtained earlier in the literature.

In his talk, Prof Ashraf also gave a conjecture concerning the study of nonlinear generalised Lie-type higher derivations on certain algebras, which will open the possibility of future development in the subject.

Attending the Conference, Dr. Shakir Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, AMU delivered a plenary talk on the topic “Jordan derivations and its related maps in rings”, discussing the recent progress made on the subject and its related areas.

He also chaired a session during the conference.

Delivering a talk on “A Study of skew lie product involving generalized derivation”, Dr. Muzibur Rahman Mozumder, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, AMU delineated the commutativity of prime rings with involution of the second kind equipped with skew lie product involving generalized derivation.

Md. Shamim Akhtar, a research scholar from the Department of Mathematics, AMU presented his paper entitled “Non-global nonlinear Lie triple derivation on unital algebras with idempotents”, while Wasim Ahmed, another research scholar from the department presented a paper on the “Study of multiplicative b-generalized derivation and its additivity”.

Similarly, Mr. Washiqur Rehman presented his paper entitled “On cyclic DNA codes over a non-chain ring”.
