AMU announces essay competition on Sir Syed’s Influence on Language and Literature

 

ALIGARH  : The Aligarh Muslim University has announced the annual All India Essay Writing Competition for university and college students on “Sir Syed’s Influence on Language and Literature” in English, Hindi and Urdu.

AMU Public Relations Officer, Mr Omar Saleem Peerzada said that the competition is being held in three languages, English, Urdu and Hindi and the first, second and third prizes will be given in three languages separately.

He said that the students interested in participating in the Hindi and Urdu essay competitions, can write their essays on “Bhasha Evam Sahitya Par Sir Syed Ka Prabhav” and “Zabaan-o-Adab Par Sir Syed Ke Asraat”, respectively.

The essay writing competition is open for bonafide students of all Indian universities and colleges. However, students up to Class XII are not eligible to participate in the competitions”, he added.

There are three cash prizes in each language, first prize for Rs. 25,000/-, second for Rs. 15,000/- and third for Rs. 10,000/- and the winners will be felicitated in the Sir Syed Day commemorative meeting on October 17.

Mr Peerzada said that the essay must reach by post at Public Relations Office, AMU, Aligarh-202001 and the soft copy by email at [email protected] latest by October 1, 2023. Further details can be ascertained from the announcement available on AMU website, www.amu.ac.in.
