AMU B. Tech students get best paper award
Aligarh : Two Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students, pursuing Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics Engineering from the Z H College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET) got the best paper award for their work on ‘Lightweight Deep Learning Model for Automated Covid-19 Diagnosis from CXR Images’ in the recently held online International Conference on Computing of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
In the research paper the students, B Zahid Hussain and Ifrah Andleeb who have authored the research paper under the guidance of Dr Mohammad Samar Ansari (Associate Professor, Department of Electronics Engineering) and and Nadia Kanwal (Ireland based academic) have highlighted deep learning for Covid diagnosis from a variety of images such as CT Scans and Chest X-Rays.
According to the students, “The suggested model in the paper matches the performance of other available DL models and is one of the most lightweight high-performance models for automated Covid detection through CXR images. This model will also be less expensive than the RT-PCR tests and allow faster treatment trajectories”.
Their paper was selected for the award from over 90 papers by students of various engineering colleges.
