AMU Biotech students qualify CSIR, GATE

Aligarh: Seven students of the Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) qualified the CSIR and GATE examinations to pursue research at prestigious national laboratories.

Sania Zaidi (CSIR-NET-JRF, AIR 84 and GATE, AIR 86) and Hirah Amir (CSIR-JRF Rank 63) secured Ph.D positions at IIT New Delhi. Muhammad Uzair and Abdul Basit Khan have also qualified the CSIR-JRF with AIR 99 and 177 respectively.

Anam Ibrahim has been selected for Ph.D at the IIT Delhi after qualifying GATE, AIR 408 and Umar Khalid Khan with GATE, AIR 318 qualification will pursue Ph.D at BSBE, IIT Kanpur. Wareesha Ali also qualified GATE, AIR 268.

Sheer hard work and guidance from faculty members led the students to succeed, said Prof Waseem Ahmad Siddiqui, Coordinator, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit.
