AMU Celebrates Constitution Day

Aligarh: Today, Aligarh Muslim University celebrated the Constitution day following strict Covid-19 protocol and government guidelines of maintaining proper social distance. The Registrar of AMU Mr. Abdul Hamid (IPS) read the Preamble of Indian Constitution and also administered the Constitution Oath which was participated by all the heads of the Administrative Offices / Sections assembled at the Selection Committee room of Administrative Block.

While administrating the Constitutional Oath the Registrar Mr Hamid said that India?s Constitution remains a basic pillar for good governance and leadership and also spoke on the fundamental rights and duties enshrined in the Constitution.

Various activities like talks, webinars on constitutional values and fundamental principles of Indian Constitutions were also organized online in the campus to mark Samvidhan Divas (Constitution Day).

At the Sir Syed Hall-North, the Constitution Day was observed with Prof K A S M Ishrat Alam (Provost) administrating the pledge and reading the constitution preamble to the team of wardens, staff members and students. The function was held with social distancing measures on the lawn of the residential hall.

In the Constitution Day observations at the Sayyid Hamid Senior Secondary School-Boys, Dr Sabiha A Salam (Vice Principal) read the preamble to the school teachers and the non-teaching staff. She expressed gratitude to the Constitution makers in her speech.

Similarly, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of the University also observed Constitution Day with social distancing measures. The cadets attended the online preamble reading session by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi. Poster making and slogan writing competitions were also organised to raise awareness of fundamental duties and rights.
