Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Chancellor, His Holiness, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin expressed deep serious concern over the sudden spike of Covid cases in Aligarh. In a letter of solicitude to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor; he said that he continues to pray for the safety and protection of all AMU students, faculty members and employees.

“It is with deep concern that I have come to learn about the troubling conditions prevailing in Aligarh due to the pandemic. May Almighty provide solace, cure and comfort to all those afflicted by this distressing illness,” said the AMU Chancellor.

His Holiness, Syedna Mufaddal further said, “During these challenging times, it pleases me to know that AMU is at the forefront in the nation’s battle against Covid-19. Through its partnership with Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research, AMU provided crucial assistance for conducting trials for COVAXIN. Likewise, the University’s numerous medical facilities and resources continue to remain committed to treating thousands of patients as India braves this second wave”.

“I pray that Almighty continues to provide the University’s faculty and students strength in these endeavours for as the Holy Prophet stated that ‘He who comes to the aid of his brother, Allah comes to his’,” wrote the His Holiness.

He added: “Once again, may the Almighty protect you and the entire AMU fraternity. May He shower His mercy upon those who have lost their lives in the pandemic, bringing it to a swift end, and grant their families and loved ones strength and forbearance.”
