Prof M. Salim Beg, Chairman, Committee for Ranking of the University said that these colleges and departments have fared much better in different segments of the study. He said that the methodology used by India Today’s knowledge partner MDRA, for ranking institutions of higher education is well-tested and widely appreciated. Its consistency over the years helps in comparing results with previous years. During the objective ranking of colleges, MDRA has carefully attuned 112+ attributes across each of the streams to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons of colleges. These performance indicators were clubbed into 5 broad parameters i.e. ‘Intake Quality and Governance (IQG)’, ‘Academic Excellence (ACE)’, ‘Infrastructure and Living Experience (ILE)’, ‘Personality and Leadership Development (PLD)’ and ‘Career Progression and Placement (PCP)’.
In addition to the above, Objective Score (OS) and Perception Score (PS) have also been separately calculated for each discipline of the respective college being considered. Taking all the above into account, a Total Score (TS) out of 2000 has then been calculated for the discipline of the respective college which is a pointer to the Overall Rank, he added.
