AMU conducts an entrance test for Class XI

 

ALIGARH : The combined admission test for Class XI (Science Stream) and Diploma in Engineering, and Class XI (Commerce and Arts/Humanities Stream) of the Aligarh Muslim University was conducted in a peaceful manner at 35 centres in Aligarh today. AMU also conducted this test at Srinagar, Lucknow, Meerut, Bareilly, Patna, Kolkata, Kishanganj and Delhi centres.

A total number of 28634 candidates had applied for the Class XI Science/Diploma in Engineering, and 24242 candidates appeared in the entrance test in the morning shift.

Seven thousand, one hundred and seventy-one candidates have applied for admission to Class XI (Humanities and Commerce streams).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Naima Khatoon, along with the Registrar, Mr Mohammad Imran (IPS) and the Proctor, Prof M. Wasim Ali, visited several examination centres, including the Department of Commerce and Physical Education, Women’s Polytechnic, STS School and ABK High School (Boys), and inspected the arrangements made for the test.

Prof Khatoon enquired about the state of examination being conducted and directed that strict adherence to the conduct of exam procedures and instructions issued should be ensured.

She also interacted with the parents and guardians of the candidates.

In the second shift, the Registrar and the Proctor, along with his team, visited various test centres, including the Faculty of Law, Residential Coaching Academy, Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

Dr Mujib Ullah Zuberi, Controller of Examination appreciated the role of faculty members and other functionaries in conducting the test in a peaceful and orderly manner.

AMU had deputed senior faculty members as observers at local centres, while some senior faculty members were appointed overall incharge at the centres located outside Aligarh to supervise the smooth conduct of the admission test.

Special help centres were organized by the volunteers of the National Service Scheme (NSS), NGOs, students and non-teaching bodies to provide drinking water and other facilities to parents/guardians of the candidates who took the test.

On Monday, June 10, the admission test for B.Tech./B.Arch. will be held in the morning shift with 14250 candidates having applied for the same, while the entrance test for BALLB and B.Ed. will be held in the evening shift with 4818 and 2613 applicants for these courses, respectively.
