AMU continues ‘Constitution Day’ and ‘National Education Day’ observations
Aligarh: As Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) continue observations of the ‘Constitution Day’and ‘National Education Day’; the Department of Linguistics marked the occasions with essay writing and debate competitions in which students from various disciplines participated.
Ahmad Siddiqui stood first in the essay writing with Soumya Abidi and Avinash Kumar finishing second and third respectively. Sumbul Shahid was declared the winner of the debate competition in which Avinash Kumar and Aaisha Anees secured the second and third positions respectively.
Prof Mohammad JahangeerWarsi, Chairman, Department of Linguistics distributed prizes to the winners.
At the Faculty of Life Sciences, ‘Constitution Day’ was observed with reading sessions of ‘Preamble’ of the Constitution by all chairpersons, coordinators and office staff.
Awareness programmes on fundamental duties and rights were also organised throughout the Faculty, said Prof Qayyum Husain, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences.
