AMU, Dept of Psychology to organise International Conference

Aligarh: The Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will organise an International Conference on “Psychology of Religion and Spirituality” from February 24 to 26.

A pre-conference workshop on ‘Role of Spirituality for Counselors and Health Care Professionals’ was held today in the conference hall of Faculty of Social Science.

Prof Suneetha B Manyam and Dr McDonald Peeper from the Department of Counseling, Mercer University, Georgia, United States, delivered lectures on ‘Role of Spirituality for Counselors and Health Care Professionals’ during the pre-conference workshop, said Prof Akbar Husain, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences.

He said that the workshop highlighted the micro-aggressive issues among immigrants and multiracial population. He said the workshop provided the research scholars, post-graduate students and faculty members with an opportunity to know the latest updates in spiritual counseling and health care.
