AMU distributes Tablets to 550 Students under UP’s “Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme 2023”

 

Aligarh : The DSW office at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized a special ceremony on May 24th and 25th, where 550 students were presented with tablets as part of the Uttar Pradesh “Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme 2023”. This initiative aims to empower students pursuing higher education by providing them with digital devices. Since 2021, a total of 3550 tablets have been distributed under this scheme, benefiting students across various disciplines.

On the first day of the ceremony, Mr. Chandar Sheker, the City Magistrate of Aligarh, and Prof. Abdul Aleem, DSW, AMU, distributed tablets to the B.Tech and Unani Medicine (Final year) students. Continuing the distribution on the second day, Mr. Mohd Imran (IPS), Registrar of AMU, handed out tablets to PhD and Postgraduate students. Mr. Imran praised the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s “Free Tablet/Smart Phone Yojna Programme” as a commendable initiative towards the digital empowerment of youth in the state. He emphasized that students who are unable to afford such devices will now have access to the benefits provided by this smart-phone scheme.

The tablet distribution program commenced on May 24th and will continue until May 26th, ensuring that more students have the opportunity to benefit from this valuable initiative. AMU remains committed to fostering digital empowerment among its student community, and this endeavour exemplifies their dedication to this cause.
