AMU DSW releases the book “Tehreek-e-Azadi aur Urdu Nasr”

ALIGARH : Prof Abdul Aleem, Dean Students’ Welfare, Aligarh Muslim University, released the book, “Tehreek-e-Azadi aur Urdu Nasr” (Freedom Struggle and Urdu Prose), authored by Deputy DSW, Prof Ziaur Rahman Siddiqui (Department of Urdu), to mark the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav drive.

Prof Aleem said that the book highlights the contribution of Urdu writers to various movements undertaken by the freedom fighters during the struggle for India’s independence, since 1857. He said the book carries a special description of scholars and poets produced by the Aligarh Muslim University who made tremendous contributions to the freedom struggle, like Maulana Hasrat Mohani who gave the slogan “Inquilab Zindabad”.

Prof Ziaur Rahman Siddiqui has been engaged in teaching and research in Urdu for over 30 years and has authored more than two dozen books in Urdu on different topics.

Prof Vibha Sharma, Deputy DSW and other faculty members were present during the book-release ceremony.
