AMU emphasizes observance of safety measures from COVID strictly

Aligarh: The faculty members, teachers and researchers of the Aligarh Muslim University will continue to work from home till further orders, according to the latest advisory of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The date of attending the department, however, will be communicated as and when it is advised by the Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh.

AMU Registrar, Mr Abdul Hamid (IPS), through a circular urged all faculty members, research scholars, non-teaching staff and students, including those still residing in university hostels, to ensure that principles of social distancing and personal hygiene are strictly adhered to.

The offices of the university will open with 100 per cent attendance from 9 am to 2.30 pm without a lunch break. However, the offices in the Administrative Block will open from 9 am to 5 pm with one-hour lunch break except for Friday, and the 50-50 per cent of employees in all sections will attend the office in two shifts, from 9 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 5 pm. On Fridays, the two groups of staff will attend office from 8.30 am to 10.30 am and from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. All JR, Dr and AR rank officials and section offices, however, will attend office from 9 am to 5 pm with a one-hour lunch break from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm.

All staff providing essential services will continue to work as per the direction of the concerned heads of departments and offices.

Meanwhile, Thermal Screening apparatuses and Auto-dispensing Sanitizers have been installed at all entry points in the administrative block to check the spread of COVID19.
