AMU faculty appointed as National Rural Tourism Council, WICCI member

 

Aligarh : Professor Sheeba Hamid, Coordinator, Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM), Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will boost and build women’s entrepreneurship and businesses through greater engagement with government, institutions, global trade and networks.

She has been appointed as a member of the National Rural Tourism Council in the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), a premier National Business Chamber for Women envisioning global impact for women entrepreneurs, businesswomen and professionals from all walks of life.

“As a member, I have responsibilities of mainstreaming women’s voice, upholding their interest in policy-making and in all echelons of decision-making, facilitating women to get better incentives and improving the finance access and other measures to empower competitiveness of businesswomen, entrepreneurs and professionals,” said Prof Sheeba.

She added that her role is instrumental in representations and recommendations for empowering women’s endeavours in economy and society, promoting business networking, collaborations and contributing to council endeavours among other decisions.
