AMU Faculty Appointed as Phase Coordinator by NCISM

 

Aligarh : The National Council for Indian Systems of Medicine (NCISM), Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, has appointed Dr. Farooq Ahmad Dar, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Unani Medicine, AMU, as the Phase Coordinator for developing the Postgraduate (PG) Curriculum for Unani MD Courses.

In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, NCISM is focusing on a competency-based curriculum to revamp AYUSH medical education. The curriculum design will follow a phased approach, with Phase I concentrating on eight Unani specialties. Dr. Dar has been appointed as the Coordinator for this phase, while also serving as the Chairman of the Syllabus Committee for his specialty, Manafeul Aza (Physiology).

Dr. Dar has previously contributed to curriculum development for NCISM, serving as the Chairman of the Syllabus Committee for undergraduate courses and an expert member in developing curriculum for Research Methodology and Medical Statistics for ASU PG courses.
