AMU Faculty Awarded Prestigious India Institute Women in Research Fellowship

 

Aligarh : Dr. Juhi Gupta, an Assistant Professor at the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies at Aligarh Muslim University, has been awarded the prestigious India Institute Women in Research Fellowship by the University of Birmingham for the British 2023-24 academic year. This fellowship is designed to honor and support women researchers in their pursuit of groundbreaking research.

Dr. Gupta’s selection for this fellowship is not only a personal triumph but also a noteworthy achievement for AMU. She becomes the third recipient of this distinguished fellowship, following researchers from IIT and the University of Bombay. What distinguishes her accomplishment is that she is the first recipient from the field of social sciences, showcasing the diversity of research excellence at AMU.

Professor Azra Musavi, Director of the Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies, expressed pride in Dr. Gupta’s accomplishment, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary research in addressing critical women’s issues.
