AMU faculty awarded research project by ICSSR

ALIGARH  : Dr. Mohammad Nasir, Department of Law, Aligarh Muslim University has received a Minor Research Project titled, “Indianisation of the Indian Legal System and Legal Education: Relevance of Ancient Indian Jurisprudence” from the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. The project includes a sanctioned grant-in-aid of Rs 5 lakh.

“The study would focus on the need to reorient the Indian legal system in a way that it reflects contemporary Indian realities while drawing valuable lessons from India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage”, said Dr. Nasir.

Prof. Md. Zafar Mahfooz Nomani, Dean, Faculty of Law and Prof. Mohd. Ashraf, Chairman, Department of Law congratulated Dr Nasir, adding that such research projects are critical in inculcating the passion for research among faculty members.
