AMU faculty completes training at TMC

Aligarh: In a recent advancement, Dr Suhailur Rehman, Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University successfully completed a 3-months’ training in Flowcytometry and Fluorescent in situ hybridization technique at the TATA Memorial Cancer Institute, Mumbai. These techniques will enhance the diagnostic facilities in the Department of Pathology and help in the diagnosis of Blood Cancer Leukemia, especially in Children.

Prof Sayeedul Hasan Arif, Chairman, Department of Pathology congratulated Dr Rehman for successfully completing the training. He also expressed thanks to Prof Sumit Gujral, the pioneering hematopathologist of India from TMC, Mumbai, for providing a special opportunity to Dr Rehman to learn the techniques at TMC.

Prof Sumit Gujral and Prof Bharat Rekhi from TMC Mumbai were the invited guest faculty during UP PATHCON2019, organised by the Department of Pathology, JN Medical College, who invited interested faculties and residents to come to TMC, Mumbai to learn different techniques, beneficial to the patients.

Prof Arif also thanked AMU Vice Chancellor Prof Tariq Mansoor for allowing Dr Rehman and appreciated his vision for academic excellence and patient care in JNMC. He urged faculty members and residents to join the advanced centre to learn techniques for the benefit of the patients in particular and for society in general.
