AMU faculty delivers a lecture at Noida International University
ALIGARH : Dr. Faizan Ahmad, Department of Post Harvest Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University delivered a lecture on the Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Food Industry during a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging Trends: Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture”, organized by the Department of Agriculture, School of Sciences, Noida International University.
Dr Faizan discussed the role of AI in food processing industries and highlighted the key challenges and applications, including artificial neural networks (ANN), Machine Learning (ML), and Expert Systems (ES) in food processing, food packaging, food delivery, and food sorting.
He stated that AI applications in the food industry ensure that processed food reaches specific criteria when inputs are of quality standard, creating a far more efficient production process. As a result, less time is spent sorting food than manual sorting, and there is higher production, better quality, and less waste.
