AMU faculty delivers an online lecture on Applications of fenugreek
ALIGARH : Dr. Sumbul Rehman, Department of Ilmul Advia, A.K. Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University delivered an online lecture at the 4th International Symposium on Materia Medica, organized by Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran.
Presenting her lecture on “Applications of fenugreek in Indian Traditional Medicine”, Dr Rehman said that for centuries, Trigonella foenum-graecum L., commonly known as Methi or Hulba, has been used in managing various human ailments, while its global introduction has spawned the diversified consumption patterns of fenugreek in different parts of the world.
She highlighted the historical traditional use of Fenugreek as an herb to induce childbirth, adding that now it is being used widely for various therapeutic effects in many diseases, including Diabetes.
