AMU Faculty delivers lecture on ‘Future Power Network Challenges and Trends’
Aligarh : Prof Imtiaz Ashraf, Department of Electrical Engineering, Z H College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) delineated advances in the applications of smart grids.
He was delivering an online expert lecture for the benefit of Engineers and Managers at Tata Power Delhi Power Distribution Company on ‘Future Power Network Challenges and Trends (Smart Grid and Demand Side Management)’.
Discussing spiral increase in demand in power requirement in the twenty first century without polluting the environment, Prof Ashraf stressed renewable energy generation in a Smart Grid Environment as the easiest solution.
He pointed out that it is high time for viable solutions as 60 percent of power generation through fossil fuels has become a major reason for climate change and global warming.
Smart grid will integrate renewable energy with improved technology and bring to activity, the participation of consumers, said Prof Ashraf.
