AMU faculty delivers lecture on NEP 2020
Aligarh: “The National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020 will bring sweeping changes and address key issues such as easy access for the students, ease of participation, quality of courses offered, equity, system efficiency, governance and management, facilities of research and development, and financial commitment involved,” said Prof M Shakeel Ahmed Samdani, Dean, Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
He was delivering a lecture in the webinar on ‘A Discourse on the National Educational Policy-2020′ organised by All India Urdu Teachers’ Association, New Delhi.
Prof Samdani added: The NEP will bring positive changes to strengthen the Indian education system.
Emphasising how the NEP will eradicate inequalities, Prof Samdani pointed out that earlier children from the lower socio-economic strata were not able to get proper education due to the shortcomings in the structure implemented as a result of earlier policies.
“The new policy ensures that children in the age group, 3-18 years from all sections of the society will be provided with equal opportunities,” he said.
Prof Samdani further said that it is imperative for teachers to be updated with the new changes.
Delineating multidisciplinary approach in the syllabus, Prof Samdani said that students will benefit by gaining more knowledge with the dedicated focus on core subjects.
“Giving more importance to mother tongues is an appreciable move in the NEP 2020,” he emphasised.
