AMU faculty elected as Member of Executive Committee, MAI

ALIGARH  : Dr Danish Mahmood (Assistant Professor, Department of Museology, Aligarh Muslim University) has been elected as Member, Executive Committee, Museums Association of India (MAI). His election took place during the general body meeting of Association’s annual conference on “Maharajas and Their Museums”, held at City Palace Museum, Udaipur (Rajasthan), last week.

Dr Danish also presented a paper on “Contribution of Raja Jaikishan Das in Collection of Archaeological Objects by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the Founder of Aligarh Muslim University”.

Mr Masarrat Khan (Artist) and three research scholars of the Department of Museology, Ms. Samura Qadir, Ms. Drakshan Parveen and Ms. Zainab Iftikhar also attended the conference and presented their papers.

The international peer reviewed Journal of Indian Museums was also released during the conference which carries research papers of AMU faculty members including Professor Abduraheem K.
