AMU faculty in ‘Highly Cited Researchers list’

Aligarh: For his exceptional contribution to Plant and Animal Science, Prof Nafees Ahmad Khan, Chairman, Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been placed at a coveted spot in the prestigious ‘Highly Cited Researchers list’ released by Web of Science Group of Clarivate Analytics.

He is among the most influential researchers from India as determined by their peers around the globe – those who have consistently won recognition in the form of high citation counts over a decade.

The research focus of Prof Nafees is mainly on understanding the mechanisms of hormonal and nutritional regulation of plant growth with emphasis on abiotic stress vis-a-vis photosynthetic efficiency and abiotic stress tolerance.

Prof Nafees has over 28 years of teaching experience in which he has supervised a score of Ph.d dissertations and M.Phil thesis, besides supervising research projects. He has written chapters for books and has published over 161 research papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals.

He did his BSc, MSc, PhD and DSc in botany from AMU.
