AMU faculty member publishes article in Bergey’s Manual

ALIGARH  : Online encyclopedia, Bergey’s Manual of Systematics of Archaea and Bacteria has published an article coauthored by Dr. Shams Tabrez Khan, Department of Agricultural Microbiology, Aligarh Muslim University, Moriyuki Hamada and Tomohiko Tamura, Biological Resource Center, National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NBRC), Chiba, Japan.

Bergey’s Manual is an authoritative source of information for bacterial classification and identification, published since 1923, and updated once in five years.

Dr. Khan has published 12 new genera and more than 2 dozen new species and many of his isolates are commercially available through a number of culture collections like CIP France (The Collection of Institut Pasteur) and DSMZ Germany.
