AMU faculty member speaks on Goodness, Beauty, and Truth

 

Aligarh : Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) faculty member from the Department of Philosophy, Dr Aamir Riyaz elucidated how Muslim philosophers considered the quest for knowledge as a divine command, and knowledge of the soul, and particularly of the intellect.

He was speaking in an online panel discussion on ‘Goodness, Beauty, and Truth: Contemporary Reflections and Interpretations’ in the Academic Seminar of the Graduate School and Nakhon Ratchasima Campus, Mahachulalongkornvidyalaya University, Thailand.

Dr Aamir presented his thoughts on Goodness, Beauty, and Truth in the Islamic perspective with references from the Holy Quran and Hadith.

He also delivered a presentation on ‘The Concept of Ethics in Islamic Philosophy: With Special Reference to the Holy Quran’ and discussed how the concept of ethics is around good conduct and excellent character.
