AMU faculty members, students mourn the death of Prof Sharib Rudolwi

 

ALIGARH  : The faculty members and students of the Department of Urdu, Aligarh Muslim University paid rich tributes to the eminent Urdu critic and author, Prof Sharib Radolwi at a condolence meeting held to mourn the sad demise of Radolwi, 81, who passed away on October 18.

In his address, Prof Qamrul Huda Faridi, Chairman of the department, said that Prof Radaulvi, born on 12 March 1932 at Radauli in Uttar Pradesh, was a well known critic who enriched Urdu criticism with an impeccable understanding of language and literature. He was a doting teacher who treated his students very kindly.

Prof Azarmi Dukht Safavi, Prof Ghazanfar, Prof Khursheed Ahmad, Prof Tariq Chattari, Prof Saghir Afrahim, Prof Mohd Ali Jauhar and Prof Syed Sirajuddin Ajmali remembered Prof Radolwi and conveyed a deep sense of loss on his demise, adding that the vacuum created by his death will be difficult to be filled.

A large number of students, research scholars and teachers attended the condolence meeting.
