AMU faculty speaks on Personalized Medicine in Colorectal Cancer

 

Aligarh : Dr Mohammad Azhar Aziz, Director, Interdisciplinary Nanotechnology Centre, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) spoke on colorectal cancer as a heterogeneous disease with various genetic and epigenetic factors leading to difficulties in response to both the therapy and drug resistance.

He was delivering a talk on ‘Precision and Personalized Medicine in Colorectal Cancer’ in the ‘Recent Advances in Nano-Medical Sciences (RANMS 2022)’ conference of the Institute of Nano Medical Sciences (INMS) and Institution of Eminence (IoE), University of Delhi’.

In the conference, Dr Azhar Aziz also chaired a session which shed light on ‘Neuroprotective Potential of Indian Medicinal Plants and their Bioactive Compounds against Parkinson’s Disease’ and ‘Cellular Self-Destruction Strategy with Biosynthesized Magnetic Nanoparticles for Health Care Applications’.

Dr Azhar Aziz talked about genetic and epigenetic factors that cause heterogeneity in colorectal cancer and their evaluation with proper drug administration in chemotherapy and target therapy.

He also spoke on new breakthroughs offering hope to cancer patients.
