AMU faculty speaks on Research Methodology in Marathi

Aligarh : Dr Taher H Pathan, In-charge Marathi Section, Department of Modern Indian Languages, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) spelt out various stages of conceptualising, conducting and analysing research in the online lecture on ‘Research Methodology in Marathi for Ph.D Research Scholars’ of the Department of Marathi, University of Mumbai.

He delved into specific procedures and techniques for identifying, selecting, processing, and analysing research in the Marathi literature.

“Varied methods are used in research to explain ideas, but the method selection purely depends on the researcher and the type does not adhere to any requirements. Ideally, a researcher’s method must offer authentic ways to elicit valuable data based on which informed decisions can be made”, said Dr Taher.

Research in language learning has to be focused on diverse topics, such as language assessment, form/meaning-focused instruction, learners’ affective and cognitive differences, extracurricular activities, technology, flipped classroom, team teaching, and work abroad among others”, he emphasised.

Dr Taher also answered queries from participants.
