AMU Gears Up for Sir Syed Day Celebrations on Oct. 17

 

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is preparing to celebrate Sir Syed Day with traditional fervor and grandeur on October 17. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon presided over a meeting with university officials at the Conference Hall to finalize the arrangements for the campus’s most significant event.

During the meeting, Prof. Naima announced that Sir Syed Day will include all customary events and will be organized on a large scale. The main event will be held at Gulistan-e-Syed, with live streaming available via webcast. Key attractions include an exhibition at Sir Syed House, featuring his writings, books, portraits, personal belongings, and calligraphy. Awards will also be presented to individuals in recognition of their achievements.

The prominent landmarks, including Sir Syed House and the Centenary Gate, will be illuminated for the occasion. Additionally, the traditional dinner for students will be served in their respective residence halls.

AMU Registrar Mohammad Imran, IPS, and Finance Officer Prof. M. Mohsin Khan also addressed the meeting, which was attended by university officials and faculty members.
