AMU Geographical Society Marks 100th Year Milestone
Aligarh : The AMU Geographical Society, a venerable institution in the field of geography, celebrated a century of contributions with two impactful events that united students, faculty, and the guests. Commemorating historic occasion, an Orientation Programme for undergraduate students took place on September 19th, 2023, followed by an Induction program for Post Graduate students on September 21.
Prof. Jabir Hasan Khan, Chairman and President of the AMU Geographical Society, addressed programs, emphasizing the significance of preparing for the JRF/NET (Junior Research Fellowship/National Eligibility Test) and urging students to aspire to the highest levels of achievement in the field of geography.
Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba, the coordinator of the AMU Geographical Society, reflected on the legacy of AMU, highlighting the importance of discipline and positivity in leading a healthy life.
Senior faculty members from the Department of Geography, including Prof. Rashid Faridi, Prof. Nigar Alma, Dr. Fatma Mehar Sultana, Dr. Maskoor, and Dr. Mansoor Alam also shared valuable insights.
The younger faculty members of the Department, including Dr. Shamshad, Dr. Firoz, Dr. Naiyer, Dr. Arshad, and Mr. Amjad, also shared their ideas aimed at shaping the future development of the students.
