AMU Hadi Hasan Hall celebrates Annual Hall Function

Aligarh : The annual hall function was held at the Hadi Hasan Hall, Aligarh Muslim University. The Vice Chancellor of AMU, Prof. Naima Khatoon, Registrar Mr. Mohammad Imran IPS, and the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof Veena Maheshwari graced the event. Former Vice Chancellor Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, along with other officials and dignitaries from AMU, emphasised the importance of fostering a supportive environment within university halls.

Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon expressed her pleasure at the students’ enthusiasm and dedication within Hadi Hasan Hall. She reiterated the university’s commitment to nurturing a conducive environment for holistic growth and development, urging students to collaborate with the administration to elevate AMU’s ranking to the top position and carry forward the vision and mission of the founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan.

The annual hall function reflects the vibrant culture and rich heritage of AMU, providing a platform for students, faculty, and staff to come together, celebrate their achievements, and reaffirm their commitment to academic excellence and communal harmony, she added.

The Registrar, Mr. Imran, and Prof. Veena commended the hall’s initiatives in promoting inclusivity and excellence among its residents. The Members of Executive Council: Prof Moinuddin, Prof Mohammad Shamim, Dr. Murad A Khan, and Dr. Musavir Ali and Secretary Games Committee Prof Amjad A Rizvi jointly distributed prizes and accolades to the winners of various events held as part of the annual function.

The Provost of the Hall, Prof. GS Hashmi, while presenting annual report informed that a series of events were organised to recognise and celebrate talent and skill among the students. Winners of the Ibithaj-2024 weeklong events showcased their prowess in a variety of competitions, from treasure hunts to debates. Similarly, the results of the Online Gaming Events highlighted the digital prowess of the university’s gaming enthusiasts.

An informal Futsal event added a touch of sportsmanship to the festivities, with Bhaandu FC emerging as the winners. The sports events witnessed fierce competition, with students showcasing their athletic abilities in disciplines ranging from football and cricket to badminton and chess.

The Athletics events witnessed some stellar performances, with athletes showcasing their speed, strength, and agility in various track and field events.

The Hall warden team comprising; Dr. Shahbaz Faridi, Dr. Mohd Asadullah, Dr. Urfi Jawad, Dr. Kaleem Ansari, Dr. Mohd Amir and Mr. Arshad Mahmood facilitated the celebration.

The proceedings were jointly conducted by team students Ahmad A Siddiqui, Mohd. Asharul Huda and M Farooq Lone.
