AMU hosts awareness about Entrepreneur Orientation Programme by Government of UP

Aligarh: The government of Uttar Pradesh organised an Entrepreneurial Orientation Programme today at the JNMC auditorium, Aligarh Muslim University. Hosted by the Dean Students’ Welfare Office, AMU, the event aimed to raise awareness among students about government policies related to entrepreneurship and to outline plans for achieving a trillion-dollar economy in Uttar Pradesh.

Professor Om Prakash Singh, former Director of Malviya Patrkarita Sansthan at Kashi Vidyapeeth, and Mr. Radhe Shyam, senior IAS and MD of the Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation, Lucknow, were the distinguished resource persons designated by the UP government to facilitate awareness among the university’s students.

Mr. Radhe Shyam, IAS, commenced the programme with an insightful discussion on career opportunities in light of the state government’s welfare schemes and entrepreneurial expansion planning. He shared his personal journey and experiences, motivating students towards social work and goal achievement, especially by uplifting the underprivileged masses.

Professor Om Prakash Singh followed, providing a comprehensive overview of government initiatives and policies aimed at assisting students and less fortunate members of society. He detailed plans for initiating 20,000 industries, starting with the ground-breaking ceremony scheduled in Lucknow on February 19, in the presence of Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath. Professor Singh highlighted the UP government’s efforts to propel the state’s economy to $1 trillion, informing students about portals for accessing information on future job opportunities and disseminating information to underprivileged individuals.

Professor Rafiuddin, the DSW, AMU, extended a welcome to the guests and emphasised the significance of the event. He encouraged students to take advantage of the various policies of the UP government and reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the AMU student community.

The programme was conducted by Professor Vibha Sharma, Deputy DSW, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shams Tabrez Khan, Assistant DSW.

The event enlightened students about government initiatives and strategies for economic growth, promoting a spirit of entrepreneurship and social responsibility among attendees.
