AMU Issues Advisory amid Rising Cases of COVID-19
Aligarh : The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has issued an advisory amid rising cases of COVID-19, stating that all students and staff members of the University should observe COVID-19 appropriate behaviour including wearing of mask, use of sanitizer and frequent hand-washing with soap and water.
Referring to the coming examinations/entrance tests Mr. Mohammad Imran IPS, AMU Registrar said in the advisory that crowding in libraries, reading rooms, and public spaces like lifts, corridors, and common building areas should be avoided.
According to the advisory “regular disinfecting of public areas is to be undertaken by the University Health Service, and Provosts etc. in accordance with various government directions, and Heads of establishment like Provosts etc. may also sensitize their teams to encourage COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and timely medical consultation for suspect COVID-19 cases”.
The University Health Service, Medical Attendance Scheme and JNMCH Officials have been urged to issue necessary instructions at their end also for mass-awareness.
The advisory further states that “with respect to isolation and quarantine, the existing guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India and any other applicable guidelines shall be followed”.
