AMU: JNMC faculty appointed as IAPH representative

Aligarh: Prof Saira Mehnaz, Department of Community Medicine, J N Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is actively engaging with professionals around the world for providing solutions to social health issues and in a myriad of other important public health activities.

She has been appointed as the Country Representative of the International Association on Public Health (IAPH), a society bringing together academics, activists, practitioners and policymakers in one platform. Prof Saira has been given the prominent position for her remarkable achievements and the global impact of her Public Health work.

Prof Saira’s tenure as the IAPH Country Representative will last till January 2024.

In her new role, Prof Saira will provide her expertise in chalking out high quality of innovative, educational, and academic content in the field of Public Health; supporting inclusive development programs, developing meaningful public health projects, designing international professional networking systems and circulating skilled based knowledge and attitudes in collaboration with other international health promotion organisations.

Prof Saira further said that some of the important highlights of her role as the Country Representative include establishing fora for professional interactions among healthcare professionals; organising research, conferences and internationally recognised courses; collaborating with world organisations to find solutions; promoting scholarly publications by association members; organising professional training, workshops, webinars, and research projects and providing free and open access to education and scholarly articles among other things.
