AMU launches 31 online courses under SWAYAM initiative

ALIGARH : The Aligarh Muslim University has launched 31 new courses for SWAYAM for the academic session 2024-25.

The courses, ranging from various disciplines, including Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Wildlife Sciences, Forensic Medicine, Commerce, Economics, English, Geography, Public Administration, Sociology, Political Science, Library and Information Science, Law, Psychology, Urdu, Hindi and Sunni Theology, have been designed keeping in mind the requirements of the learners from across the country.

These courses have been developed by AMU’s Department of Computer Science in collaboration with the NPTEL, IIT Madras and funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. These courses have been launched on SWAYAM portal, https://swayam.gov.in/INI, and are open for enrolment, free of cost.

University’s SWAYAM Coordinator Prof. Aasim Zafar informed that learners from any University can enroll in these online courses as per their requirements. Starting from July 22, out of the 31 courses, 28 will run for duration of 12 weeks, while 3 will conclude in 8 weeks.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon expressed confidence that learners across the country will be benefitted from the quality content courses and rich expertise of learned faculty members of AMU. She also appreciated University teachers for their efforts.

The Registrar, Mr. Mohammad Imran (IPS) assured assistance in further strengthening the facilities for development and launching of MOOCs for SWAYAM platform.

The varied courses include Plant Physiology and Metabolism, Business Tourism, Entrepreneurship, Management Concept, Database Management System, Data Science Using Python, Econometric Methods, Mathematical Methods-I (Economics), etc. The complete list is available on SWAYAM portal, https://swayam.gov.in/INI.
